Support Ethical Handmade Crafts from Nepal and Beyond!

After observing the Nepal
handicraft markets and after a few research, I notice the challenges that
Nepal's medium and small exporting firms encounter in their quest to export
handicraft goods to European nations. Handicraft is the main export item in
Nepal. Cotton goods, woolen products, metal crafts, leather goods, felt goods,
etc., are the most exported items to European nations from Nepal. Some of the
main challenges in the export chain involve the lack of professional and
skilled artisans, limited awareness amongst the exporters concerning the market
segments and linkages, and inadequate or lack of export subsidy.

With over two decades of experience managing diverse retail businesses across
Ireland since 2001, I have cultivated a deep understanding of the industry. My
expertise is enriched by extensive travel throughout Europe, particularly in
the south of France, where my wife is from. These experiences have allowed me
to blend local insights with international trends, enhancing my ability to
navigate both the Irish and European markets. I also noticed an opportunity
related to the expansion and export potential of Nepali Art & handicrafts
to European markets. Nepal's economy has historically been based on
handicrafts, which are essential to both the country's sociocultural balance
and economic survival. The complex web of constraints is preventing the growth of
handicraft exports against the backdrop of Nepal's physical location as a
landlocked country, coupled with economic underdevelopment and trade
imbalances.

Our future aim is to promote local craftsmanship between France and Ireland, while continuously expanding our product range to meet evolving market needs.
